Our story
Nomara started in 2021 as Vegan Upcycled Crafts - a market stall and a simple idea: that eco-friendly accessories could be just as functional, desirable and more interesting.
Elena, our founder, is a sustainability advocate, vegan and minimalist. She started sourcing from small ethical makers who were doing something genuinely different — taking worn-out materials like motorcycle tyres, army tent canvas, inner tubes, climbing rope and recycled plastic bottles, and turning them into things worth owning.
After several years at markets and events, she found a small retail space in the heart of Shoreditch and rebranded as Nomara — a name that blends 'nomad' with 'era', and reflects her belief that travelling lightly isn't a compromise. It's the point.
We no longer have the unit inside The Tea Rooms in Brick Lane, but Nomara is still very much out there - at local markets, pop-ups, and community events.
